What to do if you smell Propane
If you smell propane and/or a propane gas leak is suspected, it is important to act quickly.
- Immediately put out all smoking materials and other open flames.
- Avoid creating sparks by not using electrical switches, appliances, telephones, or cell phones.
- Leave the area immediately and get everyone out.
- If it is safe to do so, turn off the main supply valve on your propane tank right away.
- From a safe distance call 911 and Harvey’s at 1-888-726-1680.
- Only a professional should turn the gas back on after inspecting the system and determining it is safe.
